Voicemail badge does not clear

I’ve listened to and deleted all voicemails. Restarted my iPhone 12 but still the badge does not clear. I am on the very latest software. Is it a new bug, again?

Hi kered33,

If you haven't already, you'll want to ensure there are no carrier setting updates available for your iPhone 12 and carrier: Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"When a carrier settings update is available, you'll be prompted to install it. Installation takes less than one minute, and you can keep using your device normally. If your carrier releases a mandatory update, you'll see an OK button instead of an Update button to let you know that the update was downloaded and installed.

If you dismiss the installation notification, you can manually update carrier settings by following these steps:

  1. Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
  2. Tap Settings > General > About.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your carrier update."

Let us know if that helps or if you've already tried that step.

Take care!

Hi kered33,

Since there is no notification for a carrier update, this means that your settings are up-to-date. Let's see if there are any voicemails when you call your voicemail. From your iPhone, dial your own number. Then, as mentioned in Check your voicemail on iPhone - Apple Support, "press * or # (depending on your carrier) to bypass your greeting, then enter your voicemail password." Are any voicemails found when you do that?

Since voicemail is a carrier feature, also check with your carrier to see if there are any issues on their end.

Best of luck.
