Hi there rdywenur,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You can block unwanted contacts follow the steps per the Apple Support article: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Messages
From the Messages app, open the conversation, tap the contact at the top of the conversation. Tap the info button, scroll down, and then tap Block this Caller.

We hope this helps you.

Let us know if you have any questions.

rdywenur,

It is possible the person or persons contacting you may be using a "spoofing" method to essentially conceal the actual number they're contacting you from.

It may be worth reaching out to your carrier to see if there's additional options on their end. Otherwise, contact Apple Support directly for assistance from here.

Take care.

Thank you for those additional details, rdywenur.

To confirm, does the number show blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked Contacts? If so, and with continuing to receive messages from this contact, the next step would be to confirm you're running the latest iPadOS. You can find the steps for updating listed below and in the following article.

  1. "Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. Choose the software update that you want to install. You can choose to stay on iOS or iPadOS 15 and still get important security updates. Or you can choose the option to upgrade to iOS or iPadOS 16.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Update your iPhone or iPad

If you continue to have issues after updating iPadOS or you're already running the latest iOS, you'll want to continue with contacting Apple. You can find their contact details using the link below. This will give Apple the opportunity to look in to this issue further.

I tried blocking the number on iPad and Iphone Used block caller and delete conversation after but still getting messages from same phone #. Making this third time. I don’t understand if I selected block caller that I would keep getting messages from same person. It always has the same phone # attached to the caller 1cubbyqueen.CA. I have no idea who this is and don’t wish to know. Not sure what to do next.
