Messages not verifying my phone # on iphone 13

I have activated and signed into my Apple ID successfully, but my messages will not send and receive from my phone #. When going into "send and receive" it says "verifying" with a spinning wheel next to my # but has been this way for hours. I've had iphones for 15 years and this is my first time ever running into this problem

iMessage is not working PLEASE READ! My messages worked fine a few weeks ago, but when I went on it to try it again today, I could not send or receive messages. It would always say “Not delivered”. Now, this is really annoying because whenever I need a verification code to be sent, and there is no email option, nothing sends so I cannot create an account or RESET A PASSWORD! I tried to Add my phone number in the “Name, Phone numbers, Email” box but again, it asked me to verify it is me with a verification code to my iMessages which does not work. Then, when I went to check if that blue tick appeared in the “Messages > Send & Receive”, my email’s blue tick was there but for my phone number it just showed that grey loading gif thing. I would wait for minutes and still nothing would appear. I really need my iMessages to be recovered immediately because my account has been deactivated and I forgot my password! Please can someone help me? I own an iPhone 11 and there is no damage as far as I know.
