Finder: new functionality
Finder recently started opening a new tab every time I double-click any folder.
That (to me) is new functionality. I don't like it, but cannot find a switch to turn it off..
Pls help

Thx Luis, I had found that switch, but then it gets worse and opens a new window every time, which it never did. It always stayed within the open window. Now that I have restarted my Mac it is back to normal (NO new window of tab when double-clicking)..

You mean it opens a tab instead of a new window? You can change that in Finder->Preferences. I am not at my mac right now but it should be be fairly straightforward, just uncheck one box.
Change "Prefer tabs:" to never in System Preferences > General.
Also, uncheck "Open folders in tabs instead of new windows" in Finder > Preferences > General.
