canon printer installation to mac Big Sur

trying to install canon MG 2522 to a Mac OS Big Sur. Any suggestions? Download says it must be updated by the creator.

Hi,

Check that you have the latest printer driver for macOS 11 Big Sur from the printer manufacturer.

Go to www.canon.com and search for MG 2522, look to see if there is a new update to be applied.
