So I saw some of the comments about the Apple Watch not connecting to the Bluetooth in a vehicle but I also saw those were for like a series 3 watch

I recently tried to connect my Apple Watch to a 2019 Nissan Sentra it displays the code but won’t actually connect

is this still an issue where the watches cannot be connected to the car unless you have your iPhone with you or am I just missing some thing?

I know it’s the phone that pairs with the watch but I thought the watch was independent of the phone

but after reading some more I realize that cannot be paired directly with the car

It's the phone that pairs with a car not the watch.
