Apple TV Remote issue

I have the latest Apple TV 4K with Siri Remote. I cannot get it to turn my Samsung tv on. I can turn it off and my remote will control the sound at volume

Standby/wake of the TV through connected devices depends on HDMI-CEC. How the TV reacts to signals from Apple TV, that depends entirely on the CEC functionality of the TV, as implemented by the manufacturer. CEC-wake may not be supported by all TVs that support some form of CEC.

  • Verify that CEC is activated on all devices involved.
  • Read the TV manual or contact the manufacturer Support staff for confirmation of support for CEC-wake by your model TV.
