Apple CarPlay unable to share track / album

When i’m driving i use Apple Music with CarPlay. Often I want to share a track or album with my daughter.

so i click Siri and say “share this album with Jane” and the answer is “sorry I wasn't able to share that for you”

It works fine using AirPlay and my Bose system. It says “this album was shared with Jane” (so long as it was added via Apple Music and not uploaded)

This option used to work with CarPlay. The option is clearly there in the software???

It's very enjoyable to share music with our friends and family and we'd like this to be working as expected for you. We'd like to help. This feature is still available with CarPlay and it sounds like you are doing it correctly. So, let's consider a few different possibilities:

Have you restarted your iPhone? That can solve many simple issues: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
Is your iPhone fully updated? That may also play a factor in this behavior: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Does this happen with all Contacts or only Jane?
Does this happen with any music you choose, or only certain albums / songs / artists?
Can you share music with Apple Music when not in your vehicle and while connected to a Wi-Fi network?
Does SharePlay work with Jane and others? Use SharePlay with Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
