Software Update Spinning

My MacAir says that there is an update available but it just spins in search for it. How do I update my software when this happens?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi,

Try booting into Safe Mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support and see if Software Update works there. If not, boot normally and try again.
