macOS Monterey Upgrade

what happens if my MacBook Pro is not compatible with Monterey. Will it install? My MacBook pro is a 13-inch, Late 2011 model. I am currently running macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra.

You can't upgrade beyond High Sierra.
