I have an iPhone 12 Pro but can’t find my air tags. How do I get ultra wideband?

Bought the air tag but when I go to the find my app there is no selection of items as instructed. How would I find my air tags?

First: AirTags are displayed in FindMy under “Items.” (That’s not always obvious to new AirTag users)

If they appeared to correctly “pair” to your device during setup as described here:

… try completely powering-off and restarting your phone.
