How do I get iTunes to work on my machine?

I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that I have recently loaded with OS 12.8.1Monterey. the iTunes icon in Apps folder says "you can't run this version of the application "iTunes.app" with this version of Mac OS (you have iTunes 12.8.2)

What gives?

When I go to the app store they tell me to download the new version of the OS to get the newest iTunes...and DUH!...I just freaking did that!!!!!
