Is there any way to be able to see which emails are flagged (and what color) simply by looking at the inbox? (Like the way it used to look?)

Flag messages

When you flag a message, a flag icon  appears next to that message in your inbox and in the message header.

  • To flag a message, select the message and choose a flag from the Flag menu in the toolbar.
  • To remove a flag, choose the same flag again, or choose Clear Flag.

To see only the messages you've flagged:

  • Click Flagged in the favorites bar to see all flagged messages, or click the arrow  next to it and choose a specific flag.
  • Or select the Flagged mailbox in the sidebar. If you've used more than one color of flag, the Flagged mailbox contains mailboxes for each color. To reveal them, click the disclosure triangle  next to the mailbox.

Learn more about flags, including how to rename flags. For example, you might want to rename ”Red” to ”Urgent.”

I used to be able to see a column that showed the different colored flags on the right side of my inbox. After I upgraded to OS Monterey, the row of flags disappeared. Back when I could see them without opening the email, I could just scroll through the inbox to the message I was looking for, marked by the appropriate flag color. Now I no longer see the flags displayed when I scroll through why Inbox. I'm trying to figure out how to get them to display on the messages without opening the messages or using the toolbar on the left.
