Is iPad Air (4th Generation) compatible with Sandisk iXpand Mini flash drive?

Hi,

i have a Sandisk iXpand mini flash drive that I used with my old iPad mini. I purchased an iPad Air 4th gen but am unable to get it to recognize the Sandisk iXpand mini flash drive (even bought a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter so I can connect my iPad Air to it). Just wondering if it is not compatible. Thanks.
