iPhone 12 mini gets warm and is slower. Is it throttling?

My battery health is at 84% and I'm not sure if it's battery throttling since the text about peak capacity isn't that clear. There's nothing to turn off there though. My phone sometimes gets warm during the least demanding tasks (scrolling through TikTok while low power mode is on). And overall just is slower than usual at times. Would switching my battery fix it or should I just look into upgrading?

Sounds like it is thermal throttling if it heats up when doing light tasks.

84% is just above the recommended threshold that Apple recommends for a battery replacement , however it might not reflect the true health of the battery.

If you still want to use your mini then I would definitely recommend going for a battery replacement.
