Hello folks,
in conference work I’m told the audio from my MacBook Pro is best, but it’s easier to hear participants via my AirPods Pro. Can I select : use laptop mic, but play audio via AirPods?
And could I do that with the IPad too?
I need to sound good, but I’m getting to the age where I need to hear things up close.

Sure. (Apple menu) > System Preferences... > Sound > Input > Internal Microphone
Not sure about the iPad at the moment, but you can ask here: Using iPad - Apple Community
It should be possible to mix and match the audio output and mic input. Sometimes selection of the mic source can be selected in application preferences though. I just checked with Zoom, and both output/input have "Same as System" but then they can be selected with different components.
I just wanted to clarify that "Same as System" doesn't seem to be the default, but it's whatever audio input/output is selected in System Preferences. I'm not sure what Zoom (if that's what you're using) defaults to.
