Can I replace my white iPhone 7 cracked screen with a black one?

I cracked the screen on my white iPhone 7 A1778 and want to replace the screen with a black one instead of a white one can I do that or do I have to put a white one back on?

I have a 7+ and replaced the old white screen with a black one and had no issues. Just remember to buy a black home button as well.
