My phone is broken and my messages don't seem to be going to my mac

I'm going to wait until the new phones are available. My text messages don't seem to be going to my mac. How can I fix that?

Text (SMS/MMS) messages can only be forwarded to and from Macs using iPhones.

Messages get to your Mac via the iPhone's message forwarding feature. If you phone is broken, this feature may be non functional as well.

Normal text messages won't go to your Mac, only iMessages will. Open iMessage on your Mac and see if it is set up correctly
