Sending an ipad to a parent in South Africa Hi, I plan to send my ipad 7 to my mom in South Africa and hope that she can FaceTime with us here in Oregon. I assume I should, 1) Erase the ipad? 2) Set up a new Apple ID for mom? It does not have LTE she will use it with WIFI. To update the iPad you need to physically have the device. You'll also need the Apple ID password to log back in.
