I cannot access my voicemail- it just started asking me for a code. Can you help me?

I cannot access my voicemail. It’s asking me for code that I don’t have/never used? Help?

Voicemail is a carrier feature. contact your cellular carrier.

Setting up voicemail box I can’t set up my iPhone 8 voice mail either it asks for a passcode/password or it wants a greeting then it goes no further. I have no password or passcode, I Put I a custom greeting nothing. I have also gone to the voicemail app to open it up but it is grayed out hence I can’t do anything there either on my iPhone. and At&t has also tried to set it up too but they can’t either and told me to ask you and see if you could help some how, so here I m.
