Broken out of the box computer?

Hi community,

We received a brand new MacBook Air that wasn't working. It was confirmed by Apple that it is broken. Sometimes lemons happen- that's okay. But Apple is refusing to replace and instead refurbish. I don't want a refurbed computer to start since I paid full price. Anyone having this same issue?

From what Apple Inc says through Official Retail and official Apple web stores

you have 14-days no questions asked refund policy. This separates "authorized

Apple Resellers" from Official Apple Retail.

Unless you've purchased from 'independent Apple reseller', Not an Official

Apple Retail store.. (actual Apple store; same as Apple.com portal, retail.)

There should be no question. + Apple Legal has many applicable pages.

A box so shipped also should be returned, if from Apple Inc retail online.

No issue; especially within 14-days. (Maybe extra? due to Pandemic delay?)

Or if you carried a box from Apple Store after buying, & box is not damaged;

given inspection, Official Apple Retail or Online Store; and get an adjustment.

"There are a few important things to keep in mind when returning a product you purchased online from Apple"

  • You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
  • Only items that have been purchased directly from Apple, either online or at an Apple Retail Store, can be returned to Apple. Apple products purchased through other retailers must be returned in accordance with their respective returns and refunds policy.
  • Please ensure that the item you're returning is repackaged with all the cords, adapters and documentation that were included when you received it.

Sometimes, even my clumsy efforts go unscolded. At times I'm slow.]
