Airpod Max Bluetooth not working

I recently did a hard reset on my very new airpod max, originally the pairing card would appear on my phone but the press noise cancellation button for 5 seconds didn’t do anything. It’s gotten even worse now when I take it out of the charging case the white pairing light blinks but nothing appears on my phone and not a single Bluetooth device can locate the headphones.

The noise cancellation button is not broken as when I press it I get the green battery light appear - it seems an issue with the Bluetooth.

Are there any known fixes for this? I thought maybe let the battery completely drain as a form of reset but not sure they ever will completely drain not connected to a device.

I have managed to fix the issue! Letting the battery completely drain from the device so it is properly switched off rebooted it and upon charging again it now connects as it should :)

Hello Chunkysatuma,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Let's go ahead and try to reset your AirPods Max one more time. Be sure to work through each step and let us know if the results change. In addition, try pairing with a different device if you have one available.

How to reset your AirPods Max - Apple Support

To restart or reset your AirPods Max:

• First, charge them for a few minutes.

• If you're experiencing issues with your AirPods Max, you can restart them. Press and hold the noise control button and the Digital Crown until the LED flashes amber.

• You can also reset AirPods Max to factory settings. Press and hold the noise control button and the Digital Crown for 15 seconds, until the LED flashes amber, then white.

• After you reset your AirPods Max, you can connect them to your iOS or iPadOS device, or connect them to your Mac or other device.

If that isn't helpful, you may need to have the AirPods inspected by a technician. Let us know what you find.

Take care!

Hi Chunkysatuma,

Thanks for trying those steps.

Since you're getting the battery indicator, have you tried charging for a longer period of time?

If that still doesn't allow the reset, then you'll want to have a technician take a look at your AirPods Max. This page has info:
