How do you force-close the Safari browser on an iPhone?
The solution provided by Apple Support on how to force-close open tabs in their Safari web browser is actually quite simple.
(1) Open up the Safari browser and click on the overlapping boxes in the lower right corner of the page. You will be shown a list of all your open tabs.
(2) Click the ‘x’ in the top tight corner of any tabs you wish to force-close.
It’s VERY easy to overlook the number of active tabs on your Safari browser! As a standing recommendation, regularly check your open tabs. You may be surprised by the number of open tabs that you no longer need.
Tabs with information you may wish to refer to in the future can easily be saved. Open the tab in question and click the upward-pointing arrow at the bottom center of the page. You will have the option to add it as a bookmark or save it to your reading list. Once this is done, remember to close the tab by clicking on the ‘x’ mark.
One final note: new bookmarks are added to the bottom of the list, meaning that you will need to scroll down to find them. On the other hand, additions to reading lists are placed on top, making them much easier to locate.
Hope this helps!
