Data transfer

I bought a new iPhone out of town today. I started the data transfer and was connected to my hotspot and it was almost complete but my old phone died. I am now home and trying to resume it. I chose to do it manually with an authentication code. But every time my new phone turns off it says “Lost connection to other device” and I turn it back on and it says “Enter the code below on your other IPhone”. My old phone says “keep this IPhone near your new iPhone while your information is transferred”. And both phones have been showing the same things for a long time. I can’t restart my new iPhone because it wont let me leave the screen. Does anyone know what to do?
