what should do when the sound is muffled in one airpod

i got new airpods today and the sound was perfect when i first used them but i had to take them out and when i put them back in the sound in the left airpod is muffes and not as loud as the right one i’ve had airpods before and i know this can happen when they get older but these are brand new
