Unable to verify update

Attempting to install IOS 16.


I receive the following error message.



"IOS 16 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet."


I'm connected to the internet with a strong wifi connecting.

Make sure you:

• Are using a WiFi connection (not a hotspot).

• You have an active cell signal (You need both WiFi and cellular service to perform the upgrade).

• Have your battery charged at least 50%. Better yet, keep it plugged in during the update.

• Are not using a VPN connection.

• Do not have power save mode turned on.

• Do not have a beta version installed.

• You have at least 6 gigs of storage available.

Seems like my phone is a semi-brick. Stuck on a buggy release with no way to move to 16.0.02.


See screen shots from iPhone - same error I have been receiving every time I attempt to update.


While attempting to update from Macbook - The Macbook believes that I'm already on the latest version, while it's clear that the phone is not on 16.0.02
