Home and Find My apps think that my home is the middle of the Atlantic

Hello,

when I check my home location in the Home app or in the Find My app, it looks like I'm living in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Which I'm not.

Now:

  • In the Contacts app, my card contains the correct home address. If I tap on it, Apple Maps shows the correct location.
  • In the Maps app, if I tap on my account icon, my home address is among the favourites. Again, if I tap on it, Maps shows the right location.
  • I tried to delete my home address on my contacts card and add it again, but the problem persists.
  • In Settings -> Contacts -> My Info I tried to change my account to a different card (of one of my friends). The Contacts confirms that 'my' contact card is changed, but the problem persists.
  • I tried restarting the phone, but the problem persists.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

To me, it looks more like an iOS bug than some kind of settings problem.

I am on iPhone 11, iOS 16.0.

Hello lorenzo.paletti,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help get your device showing the correct location for you.

There might be a few reasons your location might show as incorrect, such as when using VPN software. Use these steps to help isolate the issue:

"If you can't find your current location on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Turn on Location Services and Location Access for Maps. In the Settings app, tap Privacy, then tap Location Services. Make sure Location Services is on, and make sure Maps is set to While Using the App or Widgets.
  • Set the date, time, and time zone correctly on your device. In the Settings app, tap General, then tap Date & Time. If possible, turn on Set Automatically.
  • Turn on cellular data or Wi-Fi so that you have an active connection. In the Settings app, tap Wi-Fi or Cellular, then select a network or cellular plan.

Location Services uses GPS, Bluetooth, crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspots, and cellular towers to determine your location. If you still can't find your current location in Maps, close the Maps app and reopen it. You can also try to restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.

Learn more about Location Services on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."

Checking these settings might help quickly isolate the cause of the issue to get the location showing your true location again.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
