See the following from Show the battery percentage on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini don't display battery percentage in the status bar.

But you can view int in Control Center or you can add the Battery widget to your Home Screen.
