Music will not play because it is always "Waiting for Bluetooth Device"

I have done everything suggested (started in Safe Mode, turned off and turned back on Bluetooth, etc.) and yet this problem continues. I am using an Apple Superdrive and an MI Mac mini with the latest MacOS. What is the solution, Apple???????

Mac mini 2018 or later

Have you previously connect Music, or the Mac's sound via Control Centre to a Bluetooth speaker? Make sure that sound is rooted to the headphone socket, and that you're connected to headphones or speakers.
