My apologies to all who have answered so far. I should have mentioned we are Canadians hoping to enjoy 2-3 months of warm American weather this year...mostly in Florida. Thank you all for your helpful suggestions.
Getting a SIM card requires contacting a cellular provider which provides them with their services. It would be no different, AFAIK, with getting one in any country.
Are you just visiting for a short time or are you moving to the US.
