iPhone Microphone Echoing

I'm trying to record an assignment for class using QuickTime Player on my MacBook Air, and I'm using my iPhone with the Microphone Live app as a mic to get better audio. However, when I speak into the mic, there's an echo that comes out. How can I fix this?

Hello nics007,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help eliminate the echo so you can record normally for your class assignment.

It sounds like you're picking up the echo by recording on both the Mac and the iPhone.

Use these steps to check the input settings for your Mac.

"1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Sound , then click Input.

Note: The options that appear depend on your Mac model and the audio devices plugged in to your Mac.

2. Select the device you want to use in the list of sound input devices.

All sound input devices available to your Mac are listed. If your display has an internal microphone, it’s listed as “Display Audio.”

This Apple Support page has the full details: Change the sound input settings on Mac - Apple Support

We hope this helps to select the iPhone as the only input to resolve the issue.

Cheers!
