I don't know the password to unlock a document on my Mac

Question

I want to use my signature to sign a document on my computer. It tells me to unlock it but none of my passwords will unlock it. Can you help

What type of document is it (pdf, Word doc, text, etc.) and where did it come from.

If a PDF and was sent to you from someone you may have to contact them to get the password to unlock it.

It should be your computer password. What app are you using?
