I have a 128 gb iPhone 7 that gives the unable to activate an update is required message.
I did an update and restore with an iMac and after reboot, I get the same message. What else can I do?

The link says “The program covers affected iPhone 7 devices for 4 years after the first retail sale of the unit.”
Waste of money. It needs a hardware repair.
Thats not at all what it says. Read the information carefully, it says -
"These affected units were manufactured between September 2016 and February 2018".
That means the last one made that could be affected ended Support 7 months ago.

Why can't you get into settings?
🤔 🤦♀️That’s exactly what the link says at the bottom of the page. From OP’s question it was apparent they didn’t bother to read anything in the link I gave them so I pointed them to a part of the answer at the end of the link where they’d have to scroll past the rest of the answer for themselves. 🤷♀️
Is this program still in effect?
No, Apple no longer supports the iPhone 7.
I can't get to settings.
Right you are, I didn't see that part.
Does anyone have any suggestions that would help? Would one of the 3rd party resetting programs do any good or are they a waste of money?
