Whatsapp background activity

Whatsapp drain most of the battery in the background even if its not on , Background app refresh is totally off for all the apps and also i have iphone xs max with 83 percent battery health and the battery drain on whatsapp background activity is totally insane

Excessive battery drain on iPhone when using WhatsApp A few days ago I realized that WhatsApp is using more than 40% of my battery daily, and half of it comes from background activity, is anyone else having this problem? WhatsApp draining battery again Has anyone noticed that WhatsApp is using a lot of battery again in the last few days. I have a 6 month old iPhone 13 mini. What is the background activity that WhatsApp uses? Can I stop it? I do not have any linked devices so it’s not that.

i contacted whatsapp support they said its not an issue with the app , get it checked with apple support
