My iPhone 12 is on IOS 15.7 but I still can’t pair with my Apple Watch series 8. Get a error message: Apple Watch requires a newer version of IOS. I’ve tried restarting my phone but problem persists

My iPhone is up to date but watch won’t pair I keep getting an error saying my iPhone needs to be updated, to pair my Apple Watch, however I have the most current version of iOS 16.1.

Apple Watch Update issues. I am trying to update my Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch 7 to the latest version. When I do it through my iPhone, I get a message that I need update my phone, but it is already updated to the latest version (and only available version) which is IOS 16.7.2. When I try to update just through my watch, I get the message "Unable to check for Update - An error occurred while checking for a software update". I have unpaired and paired both watches multiple times, but nothing has worked. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Restart your phone and go into the watch software update page on your phone and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Your phone needs to be running ios16.

but 15.7 is the latest available on iPhone 11P. so what to do?
