I purchased an iPhone from a reputed store in Dubai, handset worked well in Dubai & later in India for 4 years. Recently I travelled to UK and it didn’t connect to any network, used a local sim, it didn’t work. I checked on couple of sites and found my handset IMEI was blacklisted, though no sim restriction or locking. Connected with apple support & response is that there is no such thing exists, really confused

The carrier can blacklist a phone for a variety of reasons. Contact your carrier for help with this.
You are not having the problem you think you are having. It's possible that the phone itself does not have the hardware to work in the UK or it is locked to a certain carrier and you tried to use a non-compatible carrier. Not all devices work everywhere. If the carrier does not have it blacklisted you have a different problem.

who does the black listing of IMEI number, does it exists ? Apple support centre response, there is no such black listing while IMEI check on various sites shows the handset IMEI bkacklisted
