Why is my new iPhone too hot

its seems like my new iPhone is overheating is that normal should I let the battery die and recharge

Is your iPhone displaying a message that it is overheating? Do you operate in an area above 95ºF? Do you play graphics-intensive games on it?

I was just playing music and I work in a kitchen so i don’t know if that’s the problem

It also didn’t come up with a prompt that said it was too hot it just felt that way

Well, if you are concerned about it, I suggest you make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look.
