I have an iPhone 13 with a chip on the top left corner (on the body of the phone not screen). It isn’t big, but does this mean I can’t trade it in for the 14? I read somewhere that the screen is what matters and my screen is completely fine.

Another thing you can look into, which may or may not be available in your location, is other trade in partners. Carriers may have trade ins, places like Best Buy and others….so you may have other options you can explore as well.
when/if you do send it into Apple’s trade in partner be sure to fully document, with photos, the condition of your device
