As for generating a recovery key, those steps are listed below and can be found in the article that follows. The steps listed below are specific to generating a recovery key on an iOS or iPadOS device. You can find other options listed in the article.

- Tap Recovery Key.
- Slide to turn on Recovery Key.
- Tap Use Recovery Key and enter your device passcode.
- Write down your recovery key and keep it in a safe place.

How to generate a recovery key
If you're having a different issue, such as not being able to retrieve a verification code, there are several ways you can get a verification code. One way is to get a text or phone call using the steps listed below. These steps, along with the other options to retrieve a verification code can be found in the article below.
- "Click Didn't get a verification code on the sign in screen.
- Choose to have the code sent to your trusted phone number.
- You'll get a text message or phone call from Apple with your verification code. This text message might include an additional domain validation line. This line includes the @ symbol, the website name, and your code (for example: @icloud.com #123456 %apple.com).
- Enter the code on your other device to complete sign in."
