can I still use my IPad Air 2 if it’s not compatible with IOS16? Will I get any further updates , last update was 15.7?

When iPadOS16 is released (anticipated October), it will be available for these models of iPad:
iPadOS 15.7 is current - and it (and any subsequent updated to iPadOS15.x) will continue to be available to iPad models that support iPadOS15 after the release of iPadOS16 later this year.

1. Yes, except for application versions and new features which require 16 or above.
2. Nobody on these boards will know, but Apple repeatedly updated 12 after 13 came out.
