When iPadOS16 is released (anticipated October), it will be available for these models of iPad:

  • iPad Pro (all models)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad (5th generation and later)
  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)

iPadOS 15.7 is current - and it (and any subsequent updated to iPadOS15.x) will continue to be available to iPad models that support iPadOS15 after the release of iPadOS16 later this year.
