iPhone 14 pro max with system data filling up the storage

just got the 256gb iPhone 14 pro max running 16.0 and am constantly running out of storage due to system data increasing in size. Restarting the device reduces it to a couple of gb but a few hours later it grows to more that 100gb. Anyone else having this problem?

If you don't want to wait, bring a computer and connect it to your phone with the USB connection, download iTunes from here:

Apple - Support - Downloads (UK)

(windows or macos)

and inside iTunes

then:

Backup your phone and click “Restore iPhone” (this well delete everything in your phone and reinstall the system)

This will solve the problem.

If it is complicated for you, go to the nearest repair store or the store you buy it from and have them do it for you.

Unfortunately, I do not have other solutions, perhaps going to the place of purchase is the most appropriate solution now

The problem is mostly from the system, but if you apply what I wrote to you, it may be a problem with the device itself, so go to the place of purchase to fix the problem, before the warranty expires or just wait for a response from an expert.

The problem seemed to resolve itself for me after about a week. Some forums reported advice that the issue was to do with restoring from back up while data was downloaded, and that it should come right within 48 hours. I’m unsure if I experienced that issue and it lasted a week instead of 48 hours. Alternatively 16.0.2 may have resolved it on my device, but I see this hasn’t worked for other users.

System data is now stable on my 14 pro max at around 4gb.

Check macrumors, there are many iPhone 14 users with this problem. Apple support says something to do with iCloud and need to stay connected to Wi-Fi and plugged in power for up to 72 hours but this does not work . Most people find that his does not occur if Wi-Fi is turned off. Many found that if music and Apple TV app is deleted, it resolved the issue. Most have reinstalled music and Apple TV, and seems to be ok after reinstall. (Including me)
