Apple Music Lossless - Sample Rate Drop

I'm sure that this is a recurring issue for people on here, but have you noticed your sample rate on a Lossless sound go from 96kHz and then drop down to 44.1kHz near the end of a song? This happens almost 99.99% of the time when I'm streaming the song and thinking it's an issue with buffering. The sudden skipping as it downgrades the sample rate ruins the experience.

Also, as of 2022, MacOS still doesn't match the sample rate of a lossless song and you have to manually use the built-in Audio MIDI app to match the sample rate of the song that's currently playing. This is annoying. I'm using a 3rd party app called "lossless switcher" which handles this automatically, but I'm disappointed that Apple doesn't have anything to implement this as part of their MacOS software.

None of these issues exist on either iPadOS or iOS.
