Safari: how to remove the browser’s menu when using MacBook screen as an eReader?

Using public library app for reading an ebook on Safari. Is there a way to remove the Safari menu more that the green button to enlarge the reading screen one is viewing? Can I remove the pinned tabs and the customized menu, specifically; so that the page in the book takes up the entire page I am looking at?

Hi there allan299,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. You may be able to hide the toolbar in safari while in full-screen view using the steps below from the following resource: Customize the Safari browser window on Mac - Apple Support

Show or hide the toolbar in full-screen view: While in full-screen view, choose View > Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen.

Be sure to take a look at some of the additional options in the resource above that can help with customizing how your Safari window looks further, and let us know if that's able to help.

Cheers!

Thank you for your reply.

So far tried as you suggested:

"Show or hide the toolbar in full-screen view: While in full-screen view, choose View > Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen."

The toolbar recedes as it does when using the green button, but the bar with the browser tab does not recede and the pinned websites also remain.

Shall read the Apple Support article you link to and see if anything there show how to remove all bars across the top of the screen, leaving me with a full screen empty of all but the book that i am reading.
