iSync won't connect to my Sony Ericsson Z520a

I am trying to sync my SE Z520a using iSync, but iSync says that it's not compatible. The iSync compatible devices webpage says that it is (that's the only reason I bought it), and there are other users on this forum who have gotten it to sync.

iSync says, "This device is not supported by iSync"

The computer WILL recognize the phone via Bluetooth. However, only for file exchange, modem, and Address Book connection (not syncing, just connecting to Address Book so that you can make a call from Address Book).
Any help would be great. I was hoping to have these 4 phones ready by the weekend so my family could learn how to use them.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

I had the same problem with my Nokia 6620, same reason I bought mine.

All I did to fix the problem was go to the Bluetooth setup assistant probably found in applications/utilities.

I launched that and making sure that the phone bluetooth and computer bluetooth are enabled I then proceeded through the assistant choosing mobile phone in the option portion of the set up. After that I believe I went to iSync and added a device. It took a little playing but I eventually got it to work. Hopefully that helps.

I am having the same problem with my new Z520a phone. My powerbook sees the phone through Bluetooth but isync will not work to deposit any contacts into the phone. I am running OS 10.3.9 and isync 1.5. As I go through the Bluetooth set up assistant on the Mac, I reach a page for "Selecting the services to use with the paired phone". The box "Set up iSync to transfer contacts and event" is greyed out. I have a feeling this is the problem. I have a sonyericsson T68i phone and when I go through the bluetooth pairing process, this box is not greyed out and iSync works as it should. Does anyone have any suggestions??! Apple says this phone is supported with isync. Has anyone called applecare and spoken with a person??

Hi There,
I was having the same problem with my Z520a on an iBook (Panther 10.3.9/iSync 1.5).
I paired from the cell phone instead of the Mac. It asked for a four digit code, I typed in 0000 and the mac asked for the same code - then a window came up on the mac with 3 boxes to check, (ie. phone will sync contact, address, and access internet etc....) after that I opened isync and it found the phone and is syncing just fine. The phone icon in isync is a generic cell phone icon - I have the same exact phone paired with a Powerbook G4/Tiger/iSync 2.1 and the phone icon is a picture of the actual Z520a. So obviously 2.1 recognizes the newer phone...but you can still Sync with 1.5/Panther, and this phone! Good luck.
