iPhone 14 Pro Battery Draining Fast

Anybody have a clue why the iPhone 14 pro battery is draining like a Samsung? My 13 pro and 13 pro max battery was so much better.. I’m lucky to get through the day with the new 14 pro battery!! What’s going on? Is this because of the new always on display?

This is the same reason why iphone 6 users currently always complain about their battery as well yet maximum capacity is still the same . l used an iphone 6s for long and never faced any battery issues back then , how ever , if you use a 100% battery health on iphone six today , you hardly spend a day same as 14 series . What am l saying ??? you are probably confused right now 😂😂 , the new features on the iphone 14 pro and pro maxes are draining up more battery.. the so called improve that and that e.t.c . lf you want to save your battery , deactivate many features on the phone ... especially voice recorgnition on siri .. , make sure airdrop is always off . lf you like music , just know ... the improved bluetooth range also consumes more battery than of 13 series . If you put an iphone 13 pro battery in 14 pro max ...l bet , it wont last 3 hrs 😂. 14 pro has a bigger battery but it has a the monster has a big throat as well 😂😂. lt slurps your battery quick quick

As I have said before on this thread, it is a very common reaction to blame the iPhone 14 range and/or iOS16 for poor battery performance and, whilst I sympathise with those who are experiencing this situation, I still believe that such blame is misplaced.

I have a 14 Pro Max which I have been using from new since last November and I use it for just about everything in my life. A typical day will find me listening to music for several hours, using a public transport app giving live departure times, shopping with Wallet and ApplePay, navigating with Maps, reading with Kindle, taking loads of photos and the occasional video, shopping online and spending at least five hours streaming/downloading/watching movies.

I can count the days on the fingers of one hand when I have had less than 50% capacity left in my battery at the close of the day (and never less than 30%). I put my phone on charge around 2100-2200 each evening and unplug it when I wake naturally soon after midnight if it is fully recharged. Battery health is still 100%. I once used the phone for 48hours without recharge just to prove to myself that it could be done. I have always updated the iOS on the first available day.

To me, this suggests that a) there is nothing wrong with the iPhone 14 per se [mine is the same as everyone else's]; b) that there is nothing wrong with iOS16 per se [again, I am using the same iOS as everyone else]; c) that the disappointing battery capacity performance many people have reported, must therefore be due to the factors in which my device differs from theirs, namely the third-party apps that are installed, or the settings that have been activated since our devices were first personalised from new.

These conclusions seem to follow logically from the facts; if the phone or the OS were at fault, it would be experienced by every single user

I really hope that a substantive solution or solutions will be found soon for those who are suffering this syndrome. I wish everyone was experiencing the performance that I have always enjoyed from my 14PM.

Further to my posting in this thread (April 4, 2023 12:28pm above): I wear hearing aids and always monitor sound from my iPhone on them via Bluetooth. This means that, when my phone is on, Bluetooth is operating.

With regard to Shaolinpupil's post above (Always-On Display has the potential to drain your iPhone 14’s battery life): I tried activating this function and have had it in operation for two days and have experienced no discernible increase in battery draining.

These are far from  properly-controlled experiments, but they suggest to me that neither Bluetooth nor AOD is the culprit.

As to overnight draining, my battery has never lost even 1% overnight. M

Perhaps it's time to remind ourselves that this is

"A forum where Apple customers help each other"

and if you are one of the users who are experiencing catastrophic reductions in battery life, then you MUST go to Apple Support and have them investigate.

It IS possible for there to be a faulty battery out there. If so, Apple will replace it, without question, but grumbling within this forum will achieve nothing to actually help, apart from many sensible opinions about how to look for rogue applications and turn off power hungry applications.

If you have a real Problem - take it to Apple

(And please report back on the outcome if you do!)

I'm having this same issue. It was so drastic today that I did call support. All of their battery saving tips had already been tried. Diagnostics said battery OK. Meanwhile it dropped by 10% while I was talking to them. Their next advice was to hang up, erase and reinstall the phone or, while on the phone, reset all my settings. When I pointed out that I had no way to restore just the settings, she tried to make it sound like not a big deal to reset all of my hundreds and hundreds of settings. From bitter experience, I know this will take hours, be totally terrible, require me to re-input all my passwords (the only restore that ever avoids this is phone to phone), and not do anything about battery life. I made a genius bar appt, not sure they will do anything.

My iphone, 14 pro, discharges pretty quickly - within 2 to 3 hrs when outside and data card is on. Without the datacard on also it drains fast. I bought it in Nov 2022, and it has been draining fast since the beginning. The phone also gets hot pretty quickly when travelling. Any ideas? Most of my applications are switched off and I tend to keep in low power mode.
