Photos in MacBook Pro 2013 showing as blank thumbnails

Hello, I am unable to see any photos in my photos library. Even current photos of the week does not upload correctly. I think I have a corrupted photo library, but I am unsure of what the problem is or how to fix the issue. I attached the photos version I have and how the photo library looks like. Please help!

Can you tell us more how you have been using Photos?

  • Is iCloud Photos enabled or are you not using iCloud?
  • Where is your Photos Library stored? In the Pictures folder in your home folder or on an external volume?
  • What has happened, before the thumbnails turned white? Did you just install a software update? Or have you been running any cleaning software to remove duplicates?

What happens when you click on a white thumbnail to view the photo enlarged? Will the photo appear? If yes, try to rebuild the thumbnails by rotating the photos back and forth - select some thumbnails, then enter ⌘R, wait a bit, then enter ⇧⌘R to rotate the images back. Does this recreate the thumbnails?

Hello,

Yes, I have iCloud on (attached pic) but pictures from from my iPhone does not transfer over. My photos library is in pictures (attached pic). If I remember correctly, I updated software maybe ~6 months ago, I may have run something to remove duplicates...but unsure as I am not computer savvy enough to know how to remove duplicates. I have tried to run iPhoto library manager app & disk drill to recover images, but it did not restore my pictures (see image). When I click on the thumbnails, the images are blank, and no photo appears. Any idea what is going on?
