Make iPhone Clock from Control Center go to last used tab?

When the Clock app is open in the background and I navigate to it by clicking the app icon on the Home Screen, it opens the last used interface, such as stopwatch. This is good and desirable. But when I navigate to it from Control Center it always defaults to the timer view. This is most annoying when I’ve got stopwatch running and the phone goes to sleep. I want to quickly get back to my running stopwatch from the Lock Screen, but it brings up timer instead.

Is there a way to configure it to either go to last used view no matter how I access the app, or to always default to stopwatch view?

Also, as an aside, is the differing behavior depending on how you access the app intentional, or is it an oversight on Apple’s part?

You need to customise Control Center based on your taste. Please see the pic below.

You can customize Control Center by adding more controls and shortcuts to many apps, such as Calculator, Notes, Voice Memos, and more.

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center.
  2. To add or remove controls, tap. or next to a control.
  3. To rearrange controls, touch. next to a control, then drag it to a new position.
