iMac with Monterey 12.6 will not sleep, will not lock and screen saver.

Since it works correctly in Safe Mode, there must be a third party software modification that is preventing this from working correctly.

You came here asking for help but refuse to give any information. We are not psychics, just users like you who volunteer their time to help. We have no access to your computer and cannot guess what potentially malevolent software may be installed (by you). And yet you refuse to install the diagnostic tool which could help us help you. I guess if you found it on the Internet it must be true.

Others have posted that link here. But Etrecheck has helped scores of users find and resolve their conflicts and Mac problems by enabling other readers of Discussions to find those issues from the output.

Notice how that web site has no identifying information. No attribution And it has other "stories" that are equalling made up. It looks like a fraudulent site to me.

Yet Etrecheck is open source. You can check the code to see exactly what it does. Totally open. Nothing to hide. Unlike that nonsense web site you posted the link to.

I'm having the same issue on my MacBook Pro Mid 2015 Model. Mac will not lock when I close lid. When I go into the security preferences I'm unable to click on some tabs. Maybe next update will fix it. But I think think for my MBP that's it for supported updates. My Mac won't be getting the next major update.

Do you want to get this solved? As I wrote to the OP, we can't help unless we have actionable information.

We are users trying to help. I suggest you, and others who seem to have the same problem, start your own thread and provide the requested information. Almost always the problem is with something the user (consciously or not) installed on their macs. We have no way of knowing unless you tell us.

Refusing to do anything will not solve it. And hoping for a future update to solve a problem is also futile, if there is nothing to fix - as in this case. Millions of users have no trouble getting their macs to sleep.

I too have this issue. Plus, Apple Mail on my MacBook Pro prevents me from sending email using my Comcast.net account -- I have no problem with my Comcast account using webmail or using Mail on my iPhone.

I'm having the exact same issue. Both on my 2019 iMac and MacBook Pro 14" M1.

Yup same here. 16" Macbook Pro M1, won't go to sleep anymore or turn screen off since 12.6 update. Great

Take_a_Byte, would you please outline how you did the reinstall of 12.6? And did you use your (Time Machine?) backup after that? If so, how? Greatly appreciated. Thanks.
