iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 16
My workaround is to Air Drop them to an iPad, then import them from there.
i suspected this was a iOS 16 issue because I never had this problem before upgrading iOS.
iOS 16.1 fixes it
Was having the same issues. For me it all got fixed with the iOS 16.1 update
I've been using PhotoStream to transfer from iPhone/iOS16.03 to Photos on my MacPro running High Sierra. It works quite well as a workaround and transfers images saved on my iPad as well.
Just turn off cellular data transfer if you have a limited data plan..
I can go to iCloud.com and download the picts and then import to Photos, hopefully this is a temporary workaround and 16.1 will solve this issue.
The operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.imageCaptureCore error -9956.)
MacBook Pro 2015 / macOSvMojave 10.14.6 <------> iPhone 12 / iOS 16.0.3
I can't import any photos or video from my iPhone using any app since updating to iOS 16
The only way I can move media from my phone to my laptop now is with AirDrop.
Then go back and delete the media from the phone manually.
What ever happened to "It just works"?
Very sloppy Apple.
I hope the coders over on the imageCaptureCore team are getting some "feedback" from management.
Thanks. I have turned on My Photo Stream and this downloads to Photos library and thence to iCloud.
16.0.3 did not fix the issue for me. Hopefully 6.1 does. I have also noticed that when syncing my phone to iTunes, it syncs songs that are already on the iPhone, sometimes over 100 songs. Not sure if that is related.
Seeing lots of those errors since iOS 16, no fixes spotted yet.
I have the same problem, which I reported a few days ago https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254203793?login=true&page=1 I have not found any combination of settings that works and it also impacts pre-upgraded photos/videos. Even pictures sent to me through WhatsApp will not import.
16.0.2 did not fix the issue for me.
macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and iOS 16.02 photo imports broken after update to iOS 16.02. How can Apple not test something as fundamental as photo uploads from two of their own devices???? Sloppy.
I have an old iPad Air running 12.5 and since I upgraded my iPhone to 16.0 I can no longer AirDrop to it. Instead I get a error message and I’m asked if I want to save the item to the iCloud.
Yes... This procedure has also worked for me. I'm with iPhone 12 Pro iOS 16.0.2 and I've set all the camera and photo settings to more compatible...
16.0.3 does not appear to repair the issue.
