After updating to ios 16 the formatting on Whatapp B I U (bold italics and underline) options are gone.
mon contacting WhatApp they say, it’s beyond their scope.
am using the latest WhatsApp version too

Contact Meta support for assistance with Meta products and services including WhatsApp.
Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support
If Meta cannot provide italics or such, switch to an alternative chat app that does.
If Meta can’t manage to add or to update or address this in a Meta app, then your choices here are to either ignore it, or to find an alternative chat app that can.
We don’t have the source code to any Meta apps, nor access or authorization to access Meta servers.
We are not folks that work for Meta, or for Apple.
Apple is not in a position to address this either, unless Meta has hit a bug in some Apple framework, and Meta would presumably then be working that directly with Apple. Which does not appear to be the case, based on your postings.
U did try to reach out to Meta but this is what I got back.
